Referring Physicians.

The physicians and staff of Desert Pain Institute appreciate your confidence in us to provide high-quality care to your patients. At Desert Pain Institute we consider ourselves part of a multidisciplinary care team that includes the patient, their primary care physician, other specialists, and the allied healthcare providers participating in a patient’s care.

Comprehensive Evaluation

Your patient’s treatment course will begin with a comprehensive evaluation during which a full history and physical will be performed. Any records you can provide related to the patient’s past or ongoing treatment will be reviewed, if sent along with your referral, prior to their visit. We also request that any imaging (i.e. x-rays, MRI, CT scan, etc.) related to their complaints be brought by the patient for review at the time of their visit. If records and/or imaging are not sent prior to the visit

Individualized Treatment Plan

After evaluating the patient and reviewing any past medical records, the physician will determine if additional tests, studies, or consultations are required to further diagnose the underlying pain generator(s). If no additional tests are needed the physician will then formulate a treatment plan that will be tailored to treat the underlying pathology causing the pain using evidenced based care. Treatment may include a combination of therapies including physical or aquatic therapy, medication, interventional injections, and psychological therapies.
